A Guide to Air-Dry Clay Creation

Unleash your inner sculptor in this hands-on, meditative workshop. Unlike traditional pottery, air-dry clay offers instant gratification—no kilns, no fire, just pure imagination. Whether you want to create functional home decor or quirky miniature worlds, this session provides the tools and techniques to turn a lump of earth into a piece of art.

🛠 What’s in Your Tool Kit?

We provide professional-grade sculpting tools to help you refine your vision. You will learn how to use:

• Needle Tools: For fine detailing and "scoring" (joining pieces together).

• Ribbon & Wire Tools: For thinning walls and shaving off excess clay.

• Modeling Spatulas: For smoothing seams and creating organic textures.

• Sponges & Water: To achieve that polished, professional "ceramic" finish.

• Patterned Paper & Texture Sheets: A unique way to "print" onto clay. By pressing specialty papers into the damp surface, you can transfer intricate textures and subtle patterns directly onto your piece.

• Letter & Number Stamps: Personalize your work! Perfect for stamping names into pet bowls, dates into ornaments, or inspirational quotes into trinket dishes.

• The "Finish-at-Home" Paint Set: Since air-dry clay needs time to breathe while it hardens, we provide a curated palette of acrylic paints and a sealant for you to take home. Once your piece is fully dry (24–48 hours), you can add the final splash of color and a protective gloss.

All materials are provided, and no prior experience is needed. Just bring your creativity, and we'll supply the inspiration!

*A create event at Bloom is an opportunity for you to have a social outing with your friends/family over a drink, while creating from start to finish. It's a laid back atmosphere where we will support you step by step. Good for people of all skill levels. It's a great way for people to unleash their creativity, relax, and enjoy creating in a safe and supportive way while sharing the experience with friends and loved ones. 

Bloom events are an entertainment event much like a concert or movie theater. Your credit card will be charged upon completion of your transaction. Bloom has a 48-hour cancellation policy: if you notify us within 48 hours after purchasing, we can reschedule or refund your registration.
